Hey you dime piece! I’m Emilie Finke and I go by both, separately. Take your pick, friend. I’m a fan of roadtrips, quoting TV shows, worship leading with dear friends, dear friends in general, mountain views, mandolin solos… I’m actually a fan of a lot of things, so it’s probably faster to tell you things I don’t like: decaf coffee (please, why do you exist), small talk (I want your deepest fears and greatest joys and I want them now), and cockroaches (just go ahead and become extinct already. Seriously.) Oh and pain and commitment (sayonara any chance of ever getting a hardcore tattoo.)
I grew up in Michigan, spent eight magical years in Texas bouncing back and forth between Houston and Austin, and now find myself in Knoxville, Tennessee. This means I’ve had everything from corn fields to skyscrapers to mountains as my neighbors. I’m saved by the grace of Jesus Christ who I don’t always understand but I do most certainly love. (Ephesians 3:18-19)
I have very little life experience. You probably shouldn’t take my advice. I change my mind on important things too much. I’ve locked my keys in my car an embarrassing amount of times, I eat more lunchables now than I did as a child, and I often forget to listen to people while they are introducing themselves.
But I like to love people and see and experience life through a lens of laughter, so if you’d like to come along for the ride, you’re most certainly invited.
